Best of 2016: Rolling Stone, NME & Consequences of Sound

It's time for three more year-end reviews of the top albums of 2016.

Rolling Stone is always one of the better surveys for veteran artists and this year is no exception with first mentions of albums by Mudcruth, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Maxwell and the Monkees. 18 out of their top 50 began recording at least twenty years ago.

At the other end of the scale is Britain's NME who only named six veteran albums to their list of the 50 best and, except for Kano, every LP has been named by other publications.

The site Consequences of Sound does slightly better with 9 out of 50 going to veterans including the fifth survey to have David Bowie's Blackstar as the highest charting album by a veteran artist on five of the six surveys released so far this year.

VVN Music Top Albums of 2016 by Veteran Artists (After 6 Lists)

VVN Music uses a reverse numbering system on each of the year-end lists to determine the best album by a veteran artist for the year.

To date, we have results from six sources, Rough Trade, Mojo, Uncut, Rolling Stone, NME and Consequences of Sound.
