The Zombies to Play "Odyssey & Oracle" One Last Time

by VVN Music

Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent are taking the classic Zombies album Odyseey & Oracle out on the road one final time.

Odyssey & Oracle was the second and final album for the original incarnation of the Zombies. Released in 1968 to little fanfare, the set followed a string of hits that included She's Not There and Tell Her No but, by the time the band recorded Odyssey, they were already on the ropes and broke up right after the albums release.

Then, a year later, the record company released a second single from the album after the first, Butcher's Tail (Western Front 1914), had failed to chart in mid-1968. Time of the Season became an instant hit, going to number 1 in the U.S. and Canada (it wasn't released as a single in the U.K.). Over the years, the album has grown in stature to the point where it is now considered one of the greats of the 60's.

The current version of the Zombies, with original members Blunstone and Argent along with Jim and Steve Rodford (joined 2000) and Tom Toomey (joined 2011), have been on the road in recent years performing Odyssey & Oracle around the world along with other Zombies music, but it appears they are ready to finally hang up that phase of their career.

From March 17 to April 29, the Zombies will be traveling North America with their full concert performance along with releasing a new coffee table book in March on the making of the album.
