Set List: Bob Dylan & the Rolling Stones @ Desert Trip

by Paul Cashmere, Noise11

Bob Dylan has performed the first of his Desert Trip concerts at Indio, California.

Desert Trip is a day night event featuring Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones on night one, Neil Young and Paul McCartney on night two and The Who and Roger Waters on night three.

The formula will be repeated next weekend as well.

Bob Dylan veered away from his usual setlist to perform a rare best of set.

A few of the songs were dusted off for the show. Masters of War was played for the first time since 2010 and It’s All Over Now Baby Blue for the first time since 2012.

The Rolling Stones have fans at their first Desert Trip concert something special … something Beatles and something Blues.

With the new album Blue and Lonesome coming on December 2, The Stones performed Eddie Taylor’s Ride ‘Em On Down at Desert Trip. It was the first and last played by The Stones on July 12, 1962 at the Marquee Club in London.

They also covered The Beatles’ Come Together. That was a first for The Rolling Stones.
