  • 1955 - Buddy (Holly) & Bob opened for Elvis Presley in Lubbock, TX. Talent scout Eddie Crandall heard Holly and arranged for an audition for Decca Records.
  • 1960 - The first recording of John, Paul, George and Ringo was done in Hamburg, Germany even though Ringo was still a member of Rory Storm & the Hurricanes.
  • 1960 - Loretta Lynn made her Grand Ole Opry debut.
  • 1960 - Danny & the Juniors moved from ABC to Swan Records.
  • 1965 - Jimi Hendrix signed his first recording contract.
  • 1966 - Signe Anderson made her last appearance with the Jefferson Airplane.
  • 1966 - Del Reeves became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
  • 1968 - Led Zeppelin played their first show at Surrey University in England.
