Billy J. Kramer has taken to Facebook to discuss a recent health crisis.

According to Kramer's post, he recently had minor surgery on his right hand; however, as happens on occasion in hospitals, he contracted a staph infection. Kramer ended up back in the hospital for twelve days as doctor's tried to stop the infection and, even when he was released, had an antibiotic drip for a number of months.

Kramer says he is now fully recovered but he is yet to schedule any new performances. Earlier this year, in May, Billy published his autobiography, Do You Want to Know a Secret?. In 2014, he released his first album in decades, I Won the Fight.

Kramer's statement:
I have kept a secret regarding my health I had a minor. Surgery on my right hand and unfortunately caught a staff infection which put me in hospital for twelve days in all I was on a drip of antibiotics for a few months it was scary but I have made a ful recovery and would like to say thank you to everyone who helped me recover and helped me keep my spirits up I have so much gratitude have such great people in my life
Billy J. Kramer had six top twenty hits in his native U.K. from 1963 to 1965, two of which (Bad to Me and Little Children) reached the top ten in the U.S. In Britain, his first hit was a cover of the Beatles' Do You Want to Know a Secret? which the Fab Four never released as a single.
