  • 1968 - Led Zeppelin made their live debut at the Teen Club Box 45 in Gladsaxe, Denmark. At the time, they were known as the New Yardbirds.  
  • 1969 - The cartoon version of the Beatles aired for the last time after an almost four year run.
  • 1973 - Mike Curb resigned as head of MGM Records. He was only 28.
  • 1975 - The Guess Who played their last show (for this iteration of the group) in Montreal.
  • 1976 - Paul McCartney  inaugurated  Buddy Holly week in the U.K. on what would have been Holly's 40th birthday.
  • 1978 - Sid Vicious played the first show of his solo career at Max's Kansas City in New York.
  • 1985 - Ringo Starr became the first Beatle grandparent when son Zak and his wife Sarah had a daughter.  
  • 1986 - Mike Nesmith played on stage with the Monkees for the first time since the breakup of the group.
  • 1987 - Pink Floyd (minus Roger Waters) opened their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in Ottawa, Canada.  
  • 2000 - At the MTV Video Music Awards, Timmothy Commerford of Rage Against the Machine was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he delayed the show by twenty minutes by climbing scaffolding in the theater.
  • 1991 - Gloria Estefan was awarded $5 million for the tour bus accident in which she was involved, injuring her back.
  • 1991 - Motley Crue signed a new record contract for $22.5 million.
  • 1996 - Michael Jackson opened his HIStory World Tour in Prague, Czech Republic.  
  • 2001 - The Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration was held at Madison Square Garden with guests the rest of the Jackson 5, Eminem, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child and Gladys Knight. It was his first U.S. performance in 11 years.
  • 2002 - Gordon Lightfoot is taken to a hospital critically ill with a stomach illness later identified as a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm.  
  • 2002 - The Frankie Miller Memorial Concert was held in Glasgow, Scotland with guests Nazareth, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Gallagher & Lyle, Joe Walsh and others.
  • 2003 - Farm Aid '03 was held in Columbus, OH with guests Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crowe, Brooks & Dunn, Trick Pony, Daniel Lanois, Los Lonely Boys, Hootie and the Blowfish and Billy Bob Thornton joining organizers Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews.
  • 2005 - CBGB was issued an eviction notice.
