Jethro Tull's "Stand Up" to Be Issued in New Deluxe "Elevated Edition"

by VVN Music

Jethro Tull's second album, Stand Up, will be reissued in a two-CD/one-DVD set on November 18 via Warner UK.

Stand Up, originally released on August 1, 1969 in the U.K. and in October in the U.S., was well received by most critics and went on to be a favorite of many modern rock artists. Recorded at Morgan and Olympic Studios in London, the album still had a heavy blues influence and used a number of unusual instruments including one of the earliest uses of a mandolin in rock music, played by Ian Anderson.

For the new British release, the first disc includes a new stereo remix by Steven Wilson along with a number of added tracks including their first hit single, Living in the Past, different mixes and live BBC Sessions recordings.

Disc 2 is a January 9, 1969 concert from Stockholm while the DVD has 96/24 PCM stereo and DD/DTS 5.1 surround versions of the album, 96/24 flat transfers of the album, Living in the Past and Driving Song in both mono and stereo and video footage from the Stockholm show.

Additional content in the package has not been announced.
