Country music has some very big moneymakers and, as one would expect, they're almost all men.
The notoriously male-oriented genre sees eleven men or male oriented groups among its top fifteen moneymakers and no female vocalist on the list until number 7, Shania Twain.
At the top by quite a bit is the newly returned Garth Brooks whose comeback tour has been a huge moneymaker. His $70 million for the year dwarfs second place Kenny Chesney, also a big concert draw, who brought in $56 million.
Luke Bryan is the first non-veteran artist to make the list, coming in third with $53 million followed by Toby Keith and Jason Aldean.
Overall, veteran artists who have been recording for twenty years or more account for six of the 15 on the list.
The Forbes Country Cash Kings list is based on estimated pre-tax income for June 1, 2015 through June 1, 2016 taking into account record sales data from Nilsson, touring info from Pollstar and other publicly available income data for things like book sales and endorsements.
