The Earls of Leicester Lead IBMA Award Nominations, Del McCoury Second

The Earls of Leicester, the collective of bluegrass musicians who are reviving the music of Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys, lead the nominations for the 2016 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards.

Made up of Jerry Douglas, Shawn Camp, Charlie Cushman, Jeff White, Johnny Warren and Barry Bales, the group and individual members are up for Entertainer of the Year, of which they are reigning champs, Vocal Group and Instrumental Group while individual members Camp, Douglas, Bales and Cushman have nods in the instrumentalist categories. Douglas is also up for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year.

Del McCoury follows with six nominations for both his group, the individual members and the offshoot, The Travelin' McCourys.

Flatt Lonesome has five nominations while Becky Buller, Sam Bush and Frank Solivan are each up for three.

The winners will be announced on September 29 at the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center in Raleigh, NC.
