Red Hot Chili Peppers Stay in Top Ten For Second Week; Neil Young Has a Major Disappointment

by VVN Music

The Red Hot Chili Peppers remain the veteran artist with the highest  charting album for a second week with The Getaway. The album opened last week at number 2 but feel to 9 in its second frame.

Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool, which received a second chart life last week with its release on CD and vinyl, falls 5 to 23 while The Very Best of Prince holds nearly steady, dropping 32 to 34.

Only one album by a veteran artist debuted this week and it is a disappointment.  Neil Young's new live album, Earth, with Promise of the Real debuts at only 138. That is his lowest charting album, studio, live, compilation or archive, since 2009's Dreamin' Man Live '92 which went to 2009. Not counting an Archives release, it is his lowest since 2000's Road Rock, Vol. 1 which peaked at 169.

Expect Maxwell's blackSUMMER'Snight to make a major debut next week, possibly as high as number 3.

On the singles chart, Justin Timberlake remains at number 2 with Can't Fight the Feeling. The single is also number 2 on the Billboard Songs of Summer chart while it tops Radio Song, Digital Songs, Adult Pop Songs and Adult Contemporary Songs charts.
