Blink-182's "California" Stays in the Top Three Albums; Heart Fails to Make Top 100 For the First Time

by VVN Music

Blink-182 have shown a lot of staying power on this week's Billboard 200 Albums chart. Even though sales of California have been down an estimated 80%, it was still good enough for the veteran to only drop from 1 to 3 in their second week of release.

Other recent albums by veteran artists didn't fare as well. Maxwell's blackSUMMERS'night fell 3 to 19 in its second week while The Getaway by the Red Hot Chili Peppers went 17 to 25 in its fourth frame.

The highest debuting album by a veteran artist for the week goes to Heart whose Beautiful Broken starts at 105. That is the first time that a non-holiday studio album by the group has not made the top 100. Their previous low was 2004's Jupiters Darling which went to number 94 while their last two albums were top 25, Red Velvet Car (2010 / #10) and Fanatic (2012 / #24).

At 140 is the new EP from Aphex Twin, Cheetah. While that is nowhere near what his last album, Syro (2014 / #11) did, it is, nonetheless, his first EP to make the Billboard 200.

On the singles chart, Justin Timberlake is once again at number 2 with Can't Stop the Feeling. The track is at the top of the Digital, Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Songs charts.
