Rumor Mill: Three of the Spice Girls Are in Talks For Reunion Documentary

by VVN Music

Three of the Spice Girls are reportedly in talks to star in a TV documentary about their 20th anniversary reunion.

Rumors suggesting the five piece will reunite this year to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe have been ongoing for months, and the band have been dodging confirming news of a potential tour and album by simply telling reporters they are still in the planning stages.

It has been claimed that Victoria Beckham won't be part of the reunion as she focuses on her career as a fashion designer, while Melanie Chisholm, aka Mel C, has also dropped out, but the remaining trio - Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton - are going one step further and filming their comeback for a three-part TV series, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

“The Spice Girls comeback is the big story in pop so it’s no wonder the girls want to maximise their popularity," a source says. “There is certainly a big audience for it... The girls are always good value, so there will be plenty of material.”

The documentary series will reportedly feature footage from their recording sessions plus memories of the group's heyday, much like a similar show about Take That's comeback in 2005.

Earlier this month, Mel B told ETOnline, "It's an ongoing thing we keep talking about, and it is our 20th anniversary, so we're going to do something... We're just trying to figure that out right now. There will be something happening."

Mel B recently unfollowed Mel C from social media, suggesting Sporty Spice definitely won't be involved in the reunion. According to reports, she wants to focus on a serious music career instead.

"She loves the girls but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment," a source told The Sun. "She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion."
