Watch: Former Prince Project The Family (Now fDeluxe) Pay Tribute With a Stunning "Nothing Compares 2 U"

There have literally been hundreds of tributes to Prince in the time since his death from written remembrances to live performances of his songs, but none may have been quite as beautiful and moving as a new one released by fDeluxe, formerly known as The Family.

Shortly after the breakup of The Time, Prince formed a new band with three former Time members, Jellybean Johnson, Jerome Benton and Paul Peterson, using the name St. Paul. They added Susannah Melvoin, twin sister Wendy & Lisa's Wendy Melvoin, and Eric Leeds to round out the new band.

The Family only recorded one album, their self-titled debut from 1985, and performed a single concert before Peterson left and Prince absorbed the other four members into a new version of The Revolution; however, St. Paul found he missed the band and reformed it as fDeluxe in 2011 with all of the original members except Benton.

They recently entered the studio to do a performance of one of the songs from their The Family album, Nothing Compares 2 U, with the string group StrinGENIUS.
