Dionne Warwick Announces Biopic at Cannes; LeToya Luckett, Lady Gaga, Olympia Dukakis to Star

Dionne Warwick appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Friday to announce that a film is being made of her life.

Dionne, still in the planning stage, will star former Destiny's Child star LeToya Luckett as Warwick, Lady Gaga as Cilla Black, Olympia Dukakis as Marlene Dietrich, Warwick's mentor early in her career, and Danny Glover as Warwick's father Mansel Warwick.

The film will cover Warwick's career from 1962 to 1968. Warwick said of Luckett "She is perfect and she has exactly the right look. She will bring out what is needed for this part."

AMBI pictures is producing the film and, while no director is attached at this point, Billboard reports that the production team is talking with Mario Van Peebles. Randall Johnson (The Doors, The Mask of Zoro) is writing the script based on Warwick's autobiography My Life As I See It.

Dionne Warwick had 18 top twenty hits between 1963's Anyone Who Had a Heart and 1987's Love Power with Jeffrey Osborne.
