Anthony Hamilton and Amon Amarth Both Start in the Top Twenty Albums in the U.S.

Veteran R&B singer Anthony Hamilton and Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth both find themselves debuting in the top twenty this week on the Billboard 200.

Hamilton starts at number 15 with his new album What I'm Feelin'. His eighth album to chart since his 1996 debut, the album falls three short of the number 12 spot that was the peak for his albums Soulife (2005), The Point of It All (2009) and Back to Love (2012).

Amon Amarth self-released their first recording in 1991 and have, since, commercially released ten studio albums with their last two, 2013's Deceiver of the Gods, and the brand new Jomsviking both reaching number 19. Only two of their other albums have charted in the U.S., Twilight of the Thunder God (2008 / #50) and Surtur Rising (2011 / #34).

At 82 is the premier of Bob Mould's Patch the Sky, his eighth solo album to make the Billboard 200 out of thirteen releases. This one falls short of his last two sets, with 2014's Beauty & Ruin being his highest charting in the U.S. at number 38 and 2012's Silver Age being his second best at 52. He had previously made it to number 50 in 1994 with Sugar's File Under: Easy Listening.

Last week's number 1 album, Gwen Stefani's This is What the Truth Feels Like, falls to number 17 in its second week while Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression goes 17 to 156.
