Paul McCartney to Have Cameo in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales"

Even though principal shooting is complete on the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film, sub-titled Dead Men Tell No Tales, they are making a special exception to allow Paul McCartney to make a cameo.

According to Deadline Hollywood, this isn't just a quick crowd shot or one-liner. Word is that it is an "extra big set-piece scene" built around McCartney's character.

This will be the second rock legend to make an appearance in the series. The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards played the father of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow in the third movie in the series, At World's End, and the fourth, On Stranger Tides. Of course, Depp has openly admitted that his actions and swagger in the role were based on Richards.

McCartney's previous acting turns include, of course, the Beatles' A Hard Day's Night, Help! and Yellow Submarine (voice only), Give My Regards to Wall Street, a number of appearances on Saturday Night Live, a cameo on 30 Rock and a voice on the Netflix cartoon BoJack Horseman.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales once again stars Depp, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush along with Javier Bardeem, Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario.  It is due for release on May 26, 2017.
