Loretta Lynn May Be Headed For Highest Charting Album of Her Career

At the age of 83, Loretta Lynn may be about to have the highest charting album of her career on the Billboard Top 200.

Loretta's new album, Full Circle, is projected to have sales of about 21,000 in its debut week which puts it at number 9 on Hits Daily Double's Building Album Chart. Where Lynn falls is when streaming is added into the totals. Streaming equivalents (1,500 streams per album sold) only adds about 800 copies to her total, dropping the album to a projected number 18 on their Sales + Streaming chart.

If that number and position holds, that would give Lynn her best showing ever on the Billboard Top 200, beating out:

  • Van Leer Rose (2004 / #24)
  • Honky Tong Angels (with Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette) (1993 / #42)
  • Don't Come Home Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind) (1967 / #80)
  • Coal Miner's Daughter (1970 / #81)
The Christian pop-rock band Newsboys also are tracking well for the week with projected sales of 19,500 putting them just behind Lynn on the Building Album Chart. Also like Loretta, they gain little from streaming, only pushing them up about 230 units and putting them at 22 on the Sales + Streaming. A start in that area would be their best since 2010's Born Again and would be their second highest charting set.

Final charts will be out on Tuesday.
