Cleopatra Records Releasing 5-CD History of Psychedelic Rock

Get ready for a massive 5-CD head-trip through the outer reaches of psych rock from yesterday, today, and beyond with Psych Box, the new box set releasing tomorrow (February 12) by Cleopatra Records.

Packaged in a deluxe 7”x7” box with individual CD wallets and a full color booklet, Psych Box traces the development of the psychedelic rock explosion from its roots in the ‘60s and ‘70s sounds of Iron Butterfly, Hawkwind, The Syn (with Yes guitarist Peter Banks), The Deviants, and Brainticket through the ‘80s and ‘90s with The Legendary Pink Dots, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Dead Meadow, and on into the newest generation of psych with bands such as The Warlocks, The Black Angels, Allah-Las and more.

The booklet features both band bios as well as suggested listening options for those looking to extend their musical acid trip into the foreseeable future. As a special bonus, there is a limited edition 7” featuring a spoken word track by spiritual guru of the psych movement, Dr. Timothy Leary, and on the B-side a fiery track from Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page. So turn on, tune in, and drop out with this mind-blowing box of kaleidoscopic cacophony!
