Sting is the NBA's surprise choice for the half-time show at their 2016 All-Star Game to be held at Toronto's Air Canada Center on February 14.
While the Super Bowl has been the bastion of classic rock many times over the last twenty years, the NBA All-Star Game has been the home of modern artists promoting their latest hits. Last year's guests were Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera and Nas. That's why the choice of Sting came as such a surprise to fans.
According to Billboard, expect to see the singer perform a medley of his hits (we assume including his work with The Police) for the show, which is seen in over 200 countries.
Also at the game:
- Cirque de Soleil will perform during the player introductions.
- Nelly Furtado will sing the Canadian national anthem.
- Ne-Yo will take on the American national anthem.
