  • 1974 - Joe Walsh replaced Bernie Leadon in the Eagles.
  • 1980 - Phil Taylor of Motorhead accidentally broke a bone in his neck at an after-party.
  • 1983 - Johnny Cash went into the Betty Ford Center to head off addiction to pain killers from a recent hospitalization. 
  • 1986 - Randy Travis joined the Grand Ole Opry.
  • 2000 - Barbra Streisand and Eddy Arnold received the National Medal of the Arts from President Clinton. 
  • 2001 - Tommy Lee of Motley Crue filed papers saying that his ex-wife Pamela Anderson was an unfit mother.
  • 2005 - Sugarland lost original member Kristen Hall.
  • 2006 - Matthew Fischer won a court decision that he should share in the profits from Procol Harum's A Whiter Shade of Pale. Fischer was the organist who wrote the famous rift in the song.
