The Beatles Issue Previously Unseen Video of a Performance of "Revolution"

Apple Corps and UMe will release their updated version of the The Beatles' album 1 on November 6 re-titled 1+ and including a DVD of performances of the songs from the original album.

One of those previously unseen films is this video of the group performing their song Revolution which was the b-side of Hey Jude and a hit on its own. The video was shot on September 4, 1968 at Twickenham Film Studios in England and directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg.

George Martin said that the record was able to get its distinctive distorted sound by plugging the amps directly into the Abbey Road recording desk. "We got into distortion on that, which we had a lot of complaints from the technical people about. But that was the idea: it was John’s song and the idea was to push it right to the limit. Well, we went to the limit and beyond."

Not as live as its made out to appear..........just maybe vocals but certainly not the music.

Sounds magic nonetheless.
