Touring: John Paul Jones Once Again Joining the Dave Rawlings Machine

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones will once again be working with the Dave Rawlings Machine during a west coast U.S. tour.

Jones, who also plays mandolin among other instruments, first seriously branched out into Americana in 2007 when he played with Gillian Welch at Bonnaroo, appeared at MerleFest and produced an album for the all-female bluegrass group Uncle Earl. The next year, he produced music for former Nickel Creek star Sara Watkins.

Rawlings' band, which also includes Welch, Willie Watson and Paul Kowert, recently played the Grand Ole Opry and will take their show to venues in California, Oregon, Montana and Washington. Tickets go on sale this Thursday (July 17) for fan club members and the next day to the general public except for the Arcata, CA date which has an on-sale date of August 4.
