Paul Revere Fighting Serious Health Issue

After a couple of days of rumors around the internet, former Paul Revere and the Raiders front man Mark Lindsay has confirmed that Revere is having serious medical issues.

In a Monday posting on his Facebook page, Lindsay said:

It now seems, unfortunately, that my old partner Paul Revere – with whom I used to share outrageous wild dreams of being a successful rock & roll band – is now fighting a tremendous heath battle. Please keep Paul and his wife Syd in your thoughts and prayers, as it's a most difficult time for both of them and the whole Raider family. ~ Mark
Recent reports say that, during Raiders shows, Revere seemed tired and sat through the majority of the show. It is also said that he has either lost his hair or has shaved his head.

Revere, now 75, first formed the basis of the Raiders in 1958 as an instrumental combo called the Downbeats. When they added singer Lindsay, they scored their first minor hit with Like, Long Hair (1961 / #38) but it would take until 1966 when their career took off with top ten songs Kicks, Hungry, Good Thing and Him Or Me, What's It Gonna Be.  They hit number 1 in 1971 with Indian Reservation.

Mark Lindsay is NOT the front man for the Raiders. He was a former lead singer in the '60's, which there were quite a few in the last 55 years. Paul's band has been together over 40 years with these guys. Paul is the icon who continued to bring the name and music into this century.

It reads; "FORMER" (sheesh)

Mark Lindsay was the star of that band...sorry to hear about Paul's problems.

Jeez! Chill out. It does say "former". The big issue here is Paul's health. I think we all wish him well and a speedy recovery. It was nice to see that Mark posted the well wishes on his site. That band and all its members from the 1960s to the mid 70s when they stopped recording for Columbia should be in the RR Hall of Fame.

Hope they all still do good and stay well. Health is the most important thing.
