Marvin Gaye Biopic Shuts Down With Three Weeks Left in Shooting

The Marvin Gaye biopic, Sexual Healing, has shut down production due to problems with financing.

The shutdown of the film starring Law and Order's Jesse L. Martin actually occurred in early May with producers saying that there were problems with locations and schedules; however, it later came to light that Focus Pictures has pulled out of the project and some funding has not come through.

According to Screen Daily, some crew members have not been paid in full for their work-to-date although the producers are urging everyone involved to be patient as the funding problem has been resolved. Of course, the longer the delay, the more likely that people will need to move on to their next project which could make completing the film difficult.

If completed, the film will concentrate on the final years of Gaye's life.
