Chart Watch Britain: Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell Holds at 9; Bowie Falls 4 to 10; OMD Have Best in 22 Years

David Bowie's for week run as having the top selling album by a veteran artist in the U.K. has been ended by Meat Loaf's resurgent Bat Out of Hell. The Meat Loaf album holds at number 9 while Bowie's The Next Day moves 4 to 10.

The biggest debut for the week by a veteran artist goes to OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) whose English Electric starts at 12. That is their best since 1991's Sugar Tax which went to number 3. 2010's History of Modern peaked at 28.

Also new to the charts this week at  58 is Sarah Brightman's Dreamchaser. Her 2008 album Symphony peaked at 13 but her Winter Symphony, from later in the year, only made it to 177.

Finally, Big Country open at 68 with The Journey, their first album since 1999.
