  • 1971 - The Rolling Stones are sued by the Hell's Angels who say that their privacy was invaded by showing the fatal attack at Altamont in the documentary Gimme Shelter.
  • 1972 - Led Zeppelin made their Australian live debut.
  • 1972 - Ricky Nelson started his first British tour.
  • 1972 - Charlie Watts' wife was arrested at Nice Airport after an altercation with a customs official.
  • 1974 - Bob Dylan hit the top of the Album chart for the first time in his career with Planet Waves.
  • 1974 - Emerson, Lake & Palmer were arrested in Salt Lake City for swimming naked in their hotel pool.
  • 1975 - Marty Robbins was involved in a crash at the Daytona 500.
  • 1984 - Jerry Lee Lewis surrenders to face charges of tax evasion (he is acquitted).
  • 1988 - Billy Vera received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  • 1990 - Ike Turner is sent to prison for four years on cocaine charges.

  • 2002 - George Michael's house was robbed of $170,000 worth of paintings.  The robbers drove away in Michael's Aston Martin D87.
  • 2005 - Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) was awarded an undisclosed amount from both The Sunday Times and the Sun in Britain after they had falsely reported that he was a terrorist.
  • 2005 - Kid Rock was arrested in Nashville for allegedly punching a DJ at a strip club.
  • 2006 - Elton John was awarded an undisclosed amount after suing Britain's Daily Mail over a false story.
  • 2007 - The infamous incident where Britney Spears shaved her head, caught in detail by the paparazzi.
  • 2009 - Trent Reznor said that the upcoming Nine Inch Nails tour would be the last “for a while.”
