TV One Announces Artists For Sixth Season of Unsung

TV One's superb series on the great stars of soul and R&B, Unsung, will begin a sixth season on January 23 with a bit of Hot Buttered Soul in the form of Isaac Hayes.

Per TV One, "Unsung focuses on profiling gifted musical talents who have played an important role in recent music history, but have not necessarily become household names. The featured artists have contributed significantly to popular culture and have compelling life stories, the details of which have largely remained untold."

This time around, the series will include biographies of Hayes, Midnight Star, EPMD, Lou Rawls, Eddie Kendricks, the Whispers, Mint Condition and Johnnie Gill. In addition, for the first time, unsung will expand to two-hours for a special Disco Tribute which will include over two dozen disco stars including Gloria Gaynor, Nile Rodgers, the Village People and K.C. and the Sunshine Band.

  • 2/06 - EPMD
  • 2/13 - Lou Rawls
  • 2/20 - Disco Tribute (2 hour special)
  • 2/27 - Eddie Kendricks
  • 3/06 - The Whispers
  • 3/13 - Mint Condition
  • 3/20 - Johnny Gill
