Red Hot Chili Peppers & Stone Roses Headline at Coachella; Violent Femmes & Grinderman Reform

After many rumored and fake lineups, we finally have the real thing for this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The fest will be at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA with identical lineups two weekends in a row, April 12, 13 and 14 and April 19, 20 and 21.

This year's show includes headlining performances from Pulp and the Stone Roses (Friday), Phoenix (Saturday) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Sunday) along with a fairly descent group of veteran artists scattered throughout the weekends.

Among those veteran artists are the reunion of two veteran groups, the Violent Femmes and Grinderman

It was a short break-up for Grinderman. Nick Cave announced their last ever gig on December 10, 2011 and said “see you in 10 years”. Obviously he really meant 10 months.

Violent Femmes came to a halt in 2009 when Gordon Gano announced "Violent Femmes are over
and went on to form Bogmen. That obviously turned out well so VF has been reactivated.

Backstage at Big Day Out Adelaide Flea tweeted today “Wow. saw we are playing coachella on the same bill as nick cave and the bad seeds, and the wutang clan. 2 of my favorite bands of all time”.

Here are the main acts and all of the veteran performers. To see all the acts, click on the poster above.
