Clive Davis to Be Featured Speaker at SXSW


Clive Davis, one of the most important talent executives in music history, has been announced as the featured speaker at SXSW 2013.

Davis signed Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Aerosmith to Columbia Records in the 60s and 70s. He then founded Arista Records and signed Whitney Houston and Santana to the label. Davis next venture was J Records where he brought in Rod Stewart to create the Songbook series and discovered Alicia Keys.

Clive Davis is a five time Grammy Award winner and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  His autobiography is titled The Soundtrack Of My Life.

Clive Davis will speak at SXSW on Thursday March 14. The South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference and Festival is on from March 12-17 in Austin Texas.
