Bobby Womack Announces He Has Alzheimer's Disease

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and R&B great Bobby Womack has announced that he is suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease.

NME is reporting that the 68-year-old has admitted that he is having trouble remembering the names of songs and his collaborators.

“The doctor says there are signs of Alzheimer’s. It’s not bad yet but will get worse.

"How can I not remember songs I wrote? It’s frustrating. I don't feel together yet. Negative things come in my mind and it's hard for me to remember sometimes.

“The most embarrassing thing is I’ll be ready to announce Damon [Albarn of Blur] and can’t remember his last name.”

Womack recorded the song Stylo with Albarn's side project, the Gorillaz, and Damon produced Bobby's latest album, The Bravest Man in the Universe.

Bobby beat colon cancer last May before releasing his new album.
