ABBA's Agnetha Faltskog Confirms New Album for This Year

Agnetha Faltskog, former member of ABBA, has announced that there will be a new album this year.

The songstress confirmed back in October, 2012 that she was working on her first album since My Colouring Book in 2004.

Early reports said Agnetha was working with Jorgen Elofsson (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson) on the record indicating that we can expect a pure pop record from the ABBA star.

In an interview with Sweden’s Expressen newspaper this week she admitted that she had not planned to make another album but liked the material Elofsson was writing for her and decided to record again.

Although some high-profile writers, including Elofsson, have contributed to the album, Agnetha has written some of the songs herself.

She added on Friday "I'm recording with Gary Barlow of Take That. He is a great composer & singer! I have many surprises this 2013. The name of the album is secret (still)."

The marketing campaign for the record has also begun. At Agnetha’s Facebook page a Universal Music Group banner (see above) announces “The Dancing Queen of ABBA is back!. An all new Album by Agnetha Faltskog Released in shops and download Spring 2013.

Hi,

Unfortunately the image with the Universal logo, other recent collage images with Gary Barlow as well as the Facebook page for Agnetha Fältskog and its contents/quotes are not official, just products of overzealous fans.

Agnetha's spokesperson, Staffan Lindé, has however confirmed that there will be a new album as well as a duet with the Take That singer.
