Chart Watch Britain: Olympics Appearance Pushes Three Mike Oldfield Albums Onto the Charts

Mike Oldfield's appearance at the opening of the London Olympics' Opening Ceremonies has propelled three of his albums onto the British Album chart, including two that are new. At number 6 is Two Sides: The Very Best of Mike Oldfield and at 100 is Platinum. In between, reentering at 66, is his classic Tubular Bells.

Two other albums by veteran artists debut this week. At 78 is the new compilation The Very Best of Otis Redding & Aretha Franklin while at 99 is The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends from the Flaming Lips and numerous guest stars.
