Jackson Browne Announces His 2012 Acoustic Tour

Jackson Browne will once again go out with an acoustic tour during the summer of 2012. As with his prior treks, Browne will play guitar and piano on songs from throughout his long career with a varying set list each night.

Opening for Brown will be singer/songwriter and fiddle player Sara Watkins, formerly of Nickel Creek. Jackson said "I'm really excited to have Sara joining me on this tour. We've played together a number of times in the last few years, sometimes on her show and sometimes mine, and it's always been a thrill for me. I'm floored by her amazing instrumental virtuosity and by her beautiful voice, and most of all, I love her songs."

The tour kicks off on July 14 in Charlotte, NC and runs through August 15. Included is Browne's first-ever performance at the Newport Folk Festival on July 29.
