Short Takes: Roger Waters, Michael Jackson, Johnny Ramone, Burt Bacharach, Motley Crue

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters admitted to Howard Stearn that he was probably wrong in his acrimony towards his old bandmates. When asked about whether it was wrong for the group to continue playing their older music after his departure, he said "I think I was wrong to think they were wrong."

Waters also said that the group started to breakdown after the success of Dark Side of the Moon. "Dark Side of the Moon was the first time we made any cash ... I think once you’ve achieved that measure of success, you’ve really done what it was you set out to do together. From then on it was really about clinging to the trademark in a kind of frightened way, not wanting to lose the umbrella with the words ‘Pink’ and ‘Floyd’ together."

In other Waters news, he will bring his The Wall tour Yankee Stadium this summer on July 6.

Dr. Conrad Murray will not be asked to make restitution to the Michael Jackson estate in an agreement between the court and the singer's parents and attorneys. It was originally thought that the estate might try to recoup part of the $100 million which was estimated as Jackson's take for the This Is It tour along with the $1.8 million funeral expenses.

Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone will finally be published, eight years after his death, on April 2 through Abrams Image.

Ramone's widow, Linda, said, "It is a really powerful book because his whole life has gone before him and he knows it's going to come to an end, and he really needs to tell everybody what he's feeling inside, so that's what makes it so amazing. That is the biggest, most powerful thing, writing a book when you know you're dying."

HarperCollins said on Wednesday that Burt Bacharach is working on his memoir for the company. The book by the acclaimed songwriter, now 83, will be called Anyone Who Had a Heart and is expected in November.

Vince Neil added more thoughts on his possible retirement from Motley Crue after their upcoming Las Vegas residency. He told NewsTimes.com "Eventually it's time to call it quits. I've been sitting on my boat in the Bahamas for the last month and just thinking about the future. There's a lot of really cool things coming up in my mind, and it might be the time to just kind of bow out. But I haven't made a decision a hundred percent yet. It's just a thought that's been going through my head."
