LL Cool J to Be First Grammy Host in Seven Years

For the last seven years, the Grammys have ventured into a hostless sea and most probably never noticed but, this year, the academy has decided to bring the long tradition back. The Recording Academy has chosen LL Cool J, the annual host of the Grammy Nomination Concert since is started in 2008, to return to helm this year's awards show. "Music's Biggest Night" is scheduled for Sunday, February 12 starting at 8 PM EST.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," said LL COOL J. "I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it's gonna be a great night!"

The last host for the event was Queen Latifah at the 47th annual awards (this is the 54th awards).

LL Cool J's careers spans back to his 1985 breakthrough hit, I Can't Live Without My Radio, when he was 17 years old. Since then he has topped the Rap Singles chart eight times and gone on to acting roles in movies and on the CBS drama NCIS: Los Angeles.
