Cancelled Dates: Allman for Respiratory Problems, Lynn for Knee Surgery
Two elder statespeople of music have been forced to cancel a series of dates due to medical problems.
Gregg Allman has cancelled all dates through September 14 on the advice of his doctor due to an ongoing respiratory condition. This is the second time he has had to cancel dates due to the problems, pulling shows during his European tour last April.
A spokesman said in a statement "His doctor hoped that with rest, he'd get better, but unfortunately the issue has persisted. Treatment is going to involve several days of hospitalization and four to six weeks of bed rest at home. Allman continues to recover from his successful liver transplant and expects to return to touring in support of his highly acclaimed Low Country Blues album in the late fall."
In Nashville, Loretta Lynn has been forced to cancel all dates through September 3 while she has reconstructive knee surgery. Her doctor has advised her to allow an appropriate amount of time for the knee to heal before she goes back to performing.
Lynn said in a statement "I’m sad to have to cancel any shows for my fans, but they tell me I’ve just got to stay off this knee for a while."
Both artists hope to reschedule as many dates as is possible.
