Journey Sets Date For Next Album...And It's Once Again a Wal-Mart Exclusive

Journey - Revelation 2 CD WITH 1 DVD 2008 - 11 New Songs, 11 Greatest Hits PLUS Live In Concert DVDJourney will release the follow-up to their very successful "comeback" album Revelation on May 24.  Eclipse will be released by Frontiers Records out of Italy and will be available in North America exclusively through Wal-Mart stores.

This is the second album in a row by the group to go the Wal-Mart route.  2009's Revelation peaked at 5 on the Top Albums, 2 on Rock Albums and 1 on Independent Albums proving that there was still a big market for their music and that going the exclusive route, with its special in-store placements and promotions, had huge advantages.  Their last two albums faired far worse with 2001's Arrival peaking at 56 and 2005's Generations topping out at a dismal 170.

The material for Eclipse, which includes twelve tracks (eleven vocal and one instrumental) was written over the last eighteen months by guitarist Neal Schon and keyboard player Jonathan Cain with help from the group's new singer Arnel Pineda who joined Journey before Revelation.

Schon told VH1 "It sounds amazing. I’m in love with the record, which I haven’t said for a long time. I really fought for this record to be the way it is. It’s a rock record. It’s built for the places we’re about to play. We’re playing a lot of big shows – South America and Europe – and we’re going to be touring the whole world on and off for two years. So with the addition of Arnel, we’ve become more of an international band which has been really great."
