J. Geils Band Doing Single Reunion Show, Belinda Carlisle Goes Dancing, more
The J. Geils Band is reuniting, but for one show only. They will help open the new House of Blues in Boston on February 19. Peter Wolf, Magic Dick, Seth Justman, Danny Klein and Jay Geils have not played together regularly since 1985, sticking to only a handfull of benefits, and have not played one of those in ten years.
Belinda Carlisle is about to go Dancing With the Stars. The ex-Go Go's singer was announced as one of the contestants for the new season of the ABC program. Also competing are Jewel, Chuck Wicks (who will partner with real-life partner and two-time champion Julianne Hough), Lil' Kim, David Alan Greer, Nancy O'Dell, Lawrence Taylor, Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini, Steve-O, Denise Richards and Steve Wozniak. It all starts March 9.
Sting is getting ready to do his first film in 11 years. He will play the part of a strict headmaster in Private Privilege, based on the book by Simon Astaire.
Frankie Valli was in Las Vegas last Tuesday to introduce the cast of the upcoming Australian company of Jersey Boys. Valli was also introduced by the current Vegas cast at the end of their performance to the surprise of those in attendance.
Pete Way, founding member and bassist for UFO, will be taking some time off from the band due to liver damage. They will use a temporary replacement for the recording of their new album, expected later in the year.

Ok, I gotta find a way to get to Boston!
I saw Peter Wolf on a solo tour during the late 80's but I have only experienced the full band via recorded outlets.
