Charles Aznavour Releases Duos With Sinatra, Ferry, Sting and more

French singer/songwriter/actor Charles Aznavour has never become a well-known name in the U.S. but he is one of the most beloved entertainers around the rest of the world, selling over 100 million albums over his multi-decade career. During that time, he has recorded numerous duets with some of music greatest artists which have been collected on the new album Duos. A CD version was released in December while the digital release is set for February 10.

The 28-tracks on Duos, many previously unreleased, includes work with Frank Sinatra, Bryan Ferry, Elton John, Carole King, Paul Anka, Sting and many more on songs written and made famous by Aznavour as well as his guest stars.

Aznavour will receive the MIDEM Lifetime Achievement Award on January in recoginition of his outstanding career. Paul Zilk, CEO of Reid MIDEM, said "Charles Aznavour is, without doubt, the most famous French singer throughout the world, and he is a living legend in the pantheon of chanson francaise. His songs have become standards covered by some of the greatest artists of successive generations, and the films in which he has starred are classics. It is a pleasure for MIDEM to be able to honour this incomparable personality."

Aznavour's songs include Yesterday When I Was Young (a hit in the U.S. for Roy Clark), For Mamma (Connie Francis), She (Engelbert Humperdinck, Elvis Costello) and La Boheme. He has acted in films such as Shoot the Piano Player, Candy, and The Tin Drum.
