Aerosmith Getting Ready to Record, Elton's Getting Footy Again, more

Joey Kramer of Aerosmith wrote on the band's official website that he and bassist Tom Hamilton are working on some new music.

"Happy New Year! Today is the first day tom and I are getting back together. We just rehearsed for 2 hours and it feels so good! We can’t wait to get back into the studio and get back out on the road to do what we do best.

"We’ll check in from time to time and give you progress on how things are going."

The new album would be the group's first of original material since Just Push Play in 2001.

Elton John may be returning to his beloved soccer (football) team, Watford FC. He had resigned his position of honorary life president two months ago in a dispute with club chairman Graham Simpson; however, Simpson resigned shortly thereafter. John has now attended a club practice and is considering a full return. Since 1976, the singer has been owner, chairman, director and president of the club.

Mick Fleetwood has finally come out to explain the controversy over Sheryl Crow's comments on possibly joining Fleetwood Mac.

"Sheryl's an incredible talent, but she's started a family as a single mother and is still promoting her own album.

"Going off into the sunset with Fleetwood Mac for a couple of years just wouldn't have worked."

Britain's Sun is reporting that Spandau Ballet are considering a reunion. This, of course, would only happen if members Gary Kemp and Tony Hadley could bury the hatchet. According to one of the Sun's infamous "sources", “They have seen the great reception lots of other re-forming bands have been getting. It’s been spoken about for a little while but looks closer now. It would be a great, fun comeback and very lucrative for the band.”
Ace Frehley is naming his upcoming solo album Anomaly. It will be his first release in 18 years and includes songs that he has been writing and collecting for the past twelve.

Country's Ray Price will be celebrating his 83rd birthday on January 12 with all of his fans at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and Tex Ritter Museum in Carthage, Texas.

A good article on the resurgence of the vinyl 45 from the BBC.
