Best of 2008: Paste Magazine

Paste Magazine is the second source to weigh in on the best music of 2008 (Amazon started us out earlier in the week). Their list does tend to skew towards newer artists with only three albums out of 50 coming from veterans.

Topping Paste's list is one that we also believe is one of the best of the year, the debut album for She and Him. M Ward and actress Zooey Deschanel assembled a set of enchanting song, some with a definite old time girl-group feel, that proves that not all actor/actress singing projects are for pure vanity.

Of the veteran artists, Lucinda Williams does the best, coming in at number 9 with Little Honey. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and R.E.M. come farther down the list.
